Feitian FW on Windows? [Fixed]

Posted in

Hi,
I've bought the Smart card starter kit to do some testing with smartcards and X.509 certificates. (http://www.gooze.eu/smart-card-starter-kit)

But when reading the manual (_smartcard-quickstarter-guide.pdf) a few questions arise.

According to the manual I need to install the following on Windows:
- Native CSP drivers: Feitian framework and tools.
- PKCS#11: OpenSC free-software libraries and tools.

OpenSC, no problem. I've installed (dunno if it actually did something but I ran the OpenSC-0.12.2-win64.msi and I got no errors)

But what about the Feitian framework and tools? Looking in the fetian directory I see following sub-dirs:
epass-2001/
epass-2003/
epass-3003-auto/
epass-pki/
pki-smartcard/

Is the Feitian framework hidden in one of these? Or where do I find the framework? And what do I need from the sub-dirs above?

My environment is:
- Windows 7 Enterprise, 64 bit, running in VMWare.
- D/L feitian-pki-gooze-20120130 ISO image for tools and stuff

Re: Feitian FW on Windows?

go into feitian\epass-2003 directory, unpack ePass2003_SDK_XXXXXXXX.zip and in the PKI\Redist you'll find ePass2003-Setup.exe which is the installer for the epass2003 middleware (minidriver-utilities)

In feitian\pki-smartcard you'll find PKICard_Redist_V1.01.zip which contains the smartcard middleware installer as well as official documentation for the feitian smart card.

Re: Feitian FW on Windows?

Thanks for the answer.
When installing (running ePass2003-Setup.exe) I must select either "Private CSP" or "MicroSoft CSP". Which CSP should I use? What's the difference?

Re: Feitian FW on Windows?

The smartcard starter kit is composed of :
* Feitian R-301 reader (either SIM or normal size).
* Feitian PKI card (either SIM or normal size).

So go to:
/pki/feitian/pki-smartcard/

Download and install:
http://download.gooze.eu/pki/feitian/pki-smartcard/PKICard_SDK_V1.01.zip

SDK includes drivers, administration tools and SDK.
