Hello,
Just a reminder for me (and maybe others :) ).
PKCS#11, even 2.20, doesn't support multi-pin (or through the multi slot emulation).
Am I right?
We need PKCS#15 for that.
The Feitian PKI doesn't support multi pin profile.
Am I right?
We need ePass2003 for that.
The problem (for me) with ePass2003 is that there is not smart card with that chip.
And that currently, there is a bug on the ePass2003 "firmware" that forbids the use of multipin
Do you know when it is solved?
Thank you,
db
PS: why multipin? In order to protect different pairs of keys whose usage is different.

Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
Multi-pin support is not supported yet because of a bug (being fixed).
Presently, you can only format the ePass2003 with one single PIN.
Everything is described in our guide:
http://www.gooze.eu/howto/smartcard-quickstarter-guide/smart-card-initia...
And next page about PIN usage.
Kind regards,
Jean-Michel
Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
AFAIK, we had a discussion with Feitian and the ePass2003 will support SO-PIN shortly but NOT multipin. I am sorry for that!
Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
I (as well as other people, I think) were hoping for multipin because this would be a real value add-on for some usecases.
So, could you please ask the feitan team, if this is an matter of principle or if it could be done and only is an implementation issue?
Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
According to Feitian R&D team, multipin is not supported by hardware (i.e. firmware).
This is not a software/driver issue.
I discussed yesterday (Friday 2 March) with R&D team and they confirmed there would be a fix for SO-pin support.
Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
Hi, guys
This is ben from Feitian tech support team, nice to meet you.
Regarding the support of Mul-PIN, we need to know the detailed info of applied environment and market situation.
Could you please introduce applied environment of Mul-PIN? Or you can provide us about other products like Mul-PIN and provide current applied environment of end customers?
I've heard of such a case one certification matches one PIN before, what you meant is one key for more than one person? We have discussed this issue for several times and will not amend our present products easily without being told the market customers. Thanks for your understanding.
Re: Multipin supports among Feitian products
I'd - for example - like to protect different keys for different uses with different pins.
I've one key for private use and one key for work use.
Maybe I have to use one of the keys on an computer not under my control which might have an keylogger. Then the possible abuse would be limited to that key (or, in general, to the keys protected by same pin).
This also applies to similar uses (e.g. one key/pin per customer).
What is the problem with multipin? Is it that hard to implement or do you fear to sell less?
