Hi,
i was just trying to build new ubuntu packages for natty (11.04). I don't like compiling on each computer i use my token.
then i installed all these packages
libccid_1.4.5-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libpcsclite1_1.8.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libpcsclite-dev_1.8.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libusb-1.0-0_1.0.9-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libusb-1.0-0-dev_1.0.9-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
opensc_0.12.2-1ubuntu1ppa1~natty1_amd64.deb
pcscd_1.8.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
pcsc-tools_1.4.18-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
but it doesn't work:
janning@tiger:~/opensc$ opensc-tool -i
opensc 0.12.2 [gcc 4.5.2]
Enabled features: zlib readline openssl pcsc(libpcsclite.so.1)
janning@tiger:~/opensc$ opensc-tool -l
No smart card readers found.
janning@tiger:~/opensc$ pcsc_scan
PC/SC device scanner
V 1.4.18 (c) 2001-2011, Ludovic Rousseau
Compiled with PC/SC lite version: 1.7.0
SCardEstablishContext: Service not available.
Can somebody help me finding out, what went wrong?
It would be so nice if gooze would offer some deb packages with needed software to install.
it is so much easier then compiling yourself.
Does anybody know a PPA repository to download latest software as a deb package?
regards
Janning

Re: Ubuntu packages
We will build Ubuntu packages AFTER some issues on ePass2003 code are fixed. An issue was fixed yesterday in GIT and we are waiting for a complete fix before releasing Ubuntu packages. The same applies for Mac OS X packages.
The reason is that we will build the packages using main OpenSC GIT.
Re: Ubuntu packages
great news. it would make installing so easy!
two more questions to know if I should wait for it:
1. Are you building packages for ubuntu/natty (11.04) too, or just for oneiric (11.10)?
2. Are you building dependencies like libusb too?
a) If yes, do you have them build already?
b) If yes, can you send them to me by mail?
3. "fixing some issues" is it a matter of days, weeks or months? (any estimate would be just fine, just to know if waiting makes sense)
regards
janning
PS: I even would pay for it getting ready to run ubuntu packages for natty (for feitian epass pki token) ... please contact me if it is makes sense for you.
Re: Ubuntu packages
Hello Janning,
this are the .deb files i have build.
http://db.tt/DFciix85
Most of them are just the debian packages which i build on my laptop.
the state of those packages are: it works for me (TM). use it on your own risk. If it breaks, i'm sory

Robbert
Re: Ubuntu packages
Can you publish your source packages too?
I need to build them for 64bit, i guess your packages won't work on my platform.
This would be so great!
