As a prerequisite, your smartcard or your USB token should be unitialized with an RSA key. Contrary to CryptoTerm, Putty-SC does not know how to initilize a smartcard.
Download and install Putty SC
Visit Putty-SC homepage.
From the homepage, no installer is available.
But you will be able to compile static binaries, which are fully working.
Download the following executables:
- PuTTY: puttysc.exe MD5: e1b62acad4a3a25f24938e88c6499e59
- Agent: pageantsc.exe MD5: 9ecb7cdf490045c10da985967e7cbd61
Using PuTTY-SC
Double-click on puttysc.exe.
The following dialog is displayed:

In the left menu, browse to the PKCS#11 entry:

Enable PKCS#11 auth.
Enter the path to the opensc-pkcs11.so library.
Wait a few seconds an select your token label.
Then wait a few seconds and select a certificate on your smartcard.

Immediately, click on Session in the left menu.
Enter your username and host, i.e. in our example foo@www.mysite.com
Enter a name for your session, as we are going to save it.
Click on the Save button to save your session.

Now the dialog should look like:

Click on Open to start your session.
Putty is asking your PIN code:

Enter your PIN code and you are connected.
Next time you start PuTTY-SC, select your profile, click on Load button, then click on Open button:
